“The work of bees and of your servants’ hands…”

—The Exsultet: the Easter Proclamation at the Vigil

Family on a Mission

We are Ben, Carissa, Magdalene, Jack, and Simon. We are a family living as Catholic missionaries in Bucks County, PA and serving at Saint Agnes Parish in Sellersville. We lead Bible Studies, mentor young people and married couples in living the Christian life, help raise leaders for the Church, spend a lot of time building community, and keep bees!

We have always held the conviction that a necessary part of a vital relationship with God is a vital relationship with creation. By standing in wonder of creation, we stand in wonder of the Creator.

We started keeping bees as a way of responding to God’s call to “keep and till the Earth,” and we hope that this project of ours will also help us in our mission to spread the Gospel and create an authentic, booming Christian culture. We keep our bees on other folk’s land which allows us to build relationships with our community. We sell our honey mostly to people we know and see. And we give 15 percent of our profits to our Church. By committing to this project, we hope to encounter God through creation ourselves, encounter others in the process, and help our community thrive.

Right now, we are still in the beginning phases of development. We just harvested our first crop of honey, which was big enough to give out some samples and get the buzz going. But we can’t wait to expand and serve our community in a greater way!

Sign up HERE for our newsletter so that you can know when we have more honey in stock as well as stay in tune with what the bees are up to.
